Welcome to the Eastern Shore Garden Club web
site! Here you will find information on our
club and activities and all things gardening on
the Eastern Shore of Nova Scotia.
Our meetings are held at the East Chezzetcook Lions Club from 7:00-9:00 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month. These had been on hold from March 2020 to August 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Fortunately, we are once again able to meet in person.
On members night we have a meeting to discuss
club business. Then members are welcomed to
share in show-and-tell, magazine exchanges,
tips, and advice. Members nights generally fall on
On event night we have guest speakers or
special events, preceded by a brief club

Our Annual General Meeting is usually held in March.
Our next meeting is scheduled for 7:00 pm Tuesday, October 12th. This will be our Seed Exchange meeting, so please bring any seeds you have collected that you would like to share. Snack time will be “Taste of Your Garden” offerings, and we invite members to bring in something made by you with a garden or naturally harvested ingredient (e.g. wild blueberries). In addition, Diane Lucas will be leading a discussion on Winter Seed Sowing.
At this meeting we will have a Suggestion Box available, and will be asking everyone to think about any ideas they may have on topics they would like to learn more about, what you would like the club to do more of (i.e. community projects, road trips, etc.), and really just about anything you would like to suggest to make the club more interesting for you. We will have note paper available at the meeting to submit your ideas (anonymously if you would prefer).
Coronavirus (COVID-19): restrictions and guidance
The Province has now implemented the modified Phase 5, so we will be asking each person attending the meeting to show proof of double vaccination and Photo ID. Our new membership coordinator will track that she has seen the document, and you won’t be required to show it at subsequent meetings. Tables will be set up six feet apart, with masking required when you are not seated at your table and in proximity to others.
The Eastern Shore Garden Club has cancelled its annual plant sale usually held on the last Saturday in May.
